Meetings and events are what we do. We have been involved in Hotel Sales work with several hotels over the years – this year in June we chose to hold one of our own events in one of these great spaces. We have arranged many meetings and events over the years. We held a team meeting and product updates at Swissotel in Sydney, after staying there a few times last year and loving the location. Like many hotels, it had everything needed for meetings and events with some added extras – we especially loved the Vitality Package! What genuinely makes the difference is the people behind the hotel. Lorraine Mercuri, GM, who commenced late in 2018 has assembled a great leadership team. Looking after Sales with a passion for Meetings and Events is Jenifer Dwyer Slee. Jen was telling us a little about what makes this hotel different from the myriad you can choose from in Sydney. Jenifer is a great sales leader who also believes in investing in her team – particularly in sales and customer service training. Customers benefit from this.
The people
We are pleased to introduce the new Sales team at Swissotel Sydney. They are one of the most professional and highly detailed group of people we have ever met. It was an absolute pleasure working with them.

Vitality
So sick of stodgy high carb and sugar meeting breaks, we asked for something a little healthy.
Jenifer explained that their meeting packages include more than a room, coffee break, and lunch. They also include a philosophy. It’s called Vitality. Think detox juice shots on arrival, whole fruits, coffee breaks and lunch catering featuring vitamin-rich foods and drinks for a healthy, inviting and nutrient-filled meeting experience. It certainly kept the Clockwise team awake, even when we were presenting on statistics.

Non- Boring Board rooms
We held our meeting in a fabulous space just near the executive lounge – situated on level 9 and separate from the ballroom. Cedar, Karri, Birch and Elm boardrooms provide contemporary and stylish facilities for small meetings. Complete with state-of-the-art technology including 65” or 70” LCD screens, each room has been finished with plush carpets and a large fixed dark wood boardroom table. We found our space discreet and private, while still being easily accessible and light-filled.

Snuck in a site inspection
Want to know one of Sydney’s best-kept secrets? Here’s one. Swissotel Sydney offers a little-known nook called the Alcove, located on level 8. It features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Market Street, timber flooring and long white lounges. The high ceiling and a semi-private setting make for a perfect venue for a post-event cocktail.
