Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, sits near the North Island’s southernmost point on the Cook Strait. What is cool about this is you can do a day trip to the South Island and in certain parts you can see it.

Arrive check into your hotel and soak up a little luxury have a night in to get used to the ever so slight time difference. If you choose Sofitel or Grand Mercure the dining is exceptional so stay in for the night.

 

If you have a business component to your incentive hold it over Breakfast in the hotel and then get out to experience this creative city.

 

WETA Workshopdoes some amazing bespoke activities that will really get the creative juices flowing and you can afford to spend four hours there so combine it with Lunch. Guest speakers are available to make it really bespoke.

 

On the same vein head into TePapa and see the extraordinary works of Art

Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is Australasia’s most-visited museum for a reason, Te Papa is host to a variety of thought-provoking and informative exhibitions, from the extraordinary combined effort of Weta Workshop and Te Papa to create Gallipoli: The scale of our war, to stories rich in Maori history and some of New Zealand’s most significant artwork housed in Toi Art.

The passage across Cook Strait and through the Marlborough Sounds is one of the most scenic trips in the world. Charter your own vessel the trip linking New Zealand’s North and South islands takes just over 3 hours. Highlights along the way include the Red Rocks seal colony, Tory Channel, Cook’s Lookout and the beautiful coves of the Sounds.

The picturesque seaside town of Picton is the South Island marina base. It’s also the gateway to the marine, forest and island attractions of the Marlborough Sounds. Museums quaint dining and wonderful wines will keep you entertained while you’re here. If you have extra time, you might like to arrange a guided  cycle of  the famous Queen Charlotte Track.
